REVIEW
Forest: The goal of this course is to enable you to analyze your own data and move on to more advanced techniques if need be. I also hope that is will improved reasoned judgment. (Show and tell: How to Lie with Statistics; How to Tell the Liars from the Statisticians). You might want to review the objectives on p. 2 of the syllabus(?), but it is really the specifics that are important. Here's are the topics we covered :
- Comparisons of variances and comparisons of means (including a review of EDA)
- ANOVA and ANOVA related topics
- Correlation & Regression
- Risk Ratios & Odds Ratios
- Data Errors, Study Design and Data Management
Trees: Any hurried review would be not be adequate. Several approaches to review may be considered, including:
- A review of labs (with cross-referencing to posted keys)
- Self-assessment via the Review Questions (question X.1 on each posting)
- Studying Reader notes and or presentation slides
- Review of exercises with keys
- 11.3 (lab), 11.4, 11.5, 11.6 (You should come out of this course being able to complete an EDA, compare means, and compare variances. I will do 11.4 on the board for you.)
- There will be no separate ANOVA, correlation, or regression analysis on Part B
- 16.2, 16.3 (lab), 16.4
- 17.2, 17.3 (lab), 17.4, 17.8, 17.14
- Lab 8 & handout
- 19.2 & 19.3 (lab)
Leaves: formula sheet 2 (also formula sheet 1)
A leaf -- exercise 11.4 since we hadn't done one like this is a long time
The exam itself
Statistics is more than a compilation of computational techniques.
