While still in high school I promised I would make Miriam a quilt to comfort her and keep her warm in the dormitory.  She picked out fabric and with the help of Eilene Cross, we cut, pieced and assembled it.  I tied it in the family tradition so that the spirit of her grandmother is embodied in the quilt as well. The pattern is Stairway to Heaven, an acknowledgement of the song every guitar play must know, but will be teased if she plays.
