Materials List for Art 12

PAINTS:

• Watercolor (5 or 8ml size tubes): Red, Yellow, Blue and White (be sure it is NOT gouache). Look for Windsor & Newton Cotman or Grumbacher Academy brand.
• Mars Black acrylic paint, 2oz. tube (Golden or Liquitex brand)
• Titanium White acrylic paint, 2oz. tube (Golden or Liquitex brand)
• 8oz. jar Acrylic gel medium (can be shared)

BRUSHES:

• 1 round synthetic acrylic brush - #2 or 3
• 1 flat or bright synthetic acrylic brush – approximately 1/4"
• 1 bamboo brush - large (12)

PAPER:

• Pad of bristol board, 9x12 inches *
• Sketch pad, 9x12" *
• 2 illustration boards, 15x20" (cold press)
• 1 sheet Rives BFK printmaking paper, 22x30 inches (white, off-white or cream)
• 1 sheet black Drawing Paper (approximately 18x24" or larger) *

DRAWING TOOLS:

• 1 set of black ink markers (ie: Prismacolor Premier Assorted Markers - set of 4) *
• Pencils: H, 2B, 4B *
• 1 gum eraser *

GENERAL SUPPLIES:

• 1 graphic triangle, clear, transparent, 10 inch *
• 1 jar rubber cement *
• 1 Cutting mat 9x12" or larger *
• 1 roll drafting tape *
• scissors *
• #11 Exacto knife and blades (or similar matt knife) *
• aluminum or steel ruler, 18 inch or longer *
• artist's box
• 1 sheet transparent Plexiglass, approx. 11x14 (at Tap Plastics or Home Depot)

FOUND MATERIALS:

• access to a camera and photo printing
• old telephone book (if available)
• cotton rags
• 2 small water containers
• found cardboard, 12" square
• colored fabric scraps
