Note to class: because of our time constraints I decided to alter this project. You can still use a piece of music for inspiration but the subject of the project is your "Personal Pallet" - colors that define you as a person and artist.
Materials:
- leftover piece of illustration board (10x15" - see diagram below)
- 1 piece of watercolor paper or bristol board for thumbnail sketch of composition
- acrylic paint, brushes, ruler, pencil etc.
Left side: 5x5"
- divide into 25 1" squares
- paint a pallet of colors that define you
Right side: 5x7"
- consult the reading on designing with color and come up with a thumbnail sketch for your design
- transfer design to right side and paint
SIZE: Illustration Board total size = 10x15"

Here are some things to think about. All are discussed in this week's reading:
- Color UNITY
- Color REPETITION / RHYTHM
- Consistent (or contrasting) Color KEY (a color attribute such as VALUE, SATURATION, TEMPERATURE)
- Color PROPORTIONS
- Color EMPHASIS through CONTRAST
- Color BALANCE (different color weights - light/heavy colors) ASYMMETRICAL BALANCE has the most movement!
- Color and SPACE
- Light and Color ATMOSPHERE
CRITERIA:
- Creativity - this is your chance to shine!
- Presentation! convince us!
