Note: This is a graded assignment (worth the same as other homework assignments) even though it is in your journal.

During this semester students are expected to visit a musuem.
See the Bay Area Museums and Galleries section on the News and Links page for links to museums. Visit the websites to see what is showing and to check hours and prices (galleries are free).

• Bring your journal and a pencil. (do NOT bring wet materials or permanent markers)
• First, wander through the museum and look for things that interest you.
• Find 5 different artworks (anywhere in the museum in any medium) and make one drawing on a journal page fore EACH - a total of 5 drawings on 5 pages. Draw the entire piece. If copying a painting, draw a frame and check proportions. Each drawing should take 15-20 minutes to complete.

On the each of the 5 drawing pages you must include the following information, usually found on a tag next to work:

• Title of work
• name of artist
• medium (optional)
• date

Include an introductory page before your drawings. This page should be clearly tabbed with a piece of tape and should include:

• The name of Museum visited
• Date visted
• General notes, reactions etc. about your visit
