Joan Long

Faculty Data & Records Assistant

Joan has worked at San Jose State University for 18 years. She started out in alumni where she worked for 5 years, and after a brief interlude, returned to SJSU to temp in many departments. She was hired in the testing office in September 1999 and worked there for 7 years, then transferring to work for CIES for 2 years. She arrived at the Faculty Affairs office in September 2012.

Ryoko Goldston

Probationary Faculty Evaluations Analyst

Ryoko has been employed at San Jose State University since 2005. Prior to joining Faculty Affairs in January 2013 she has worked in the Aerospace Studies Department (AFROTC), the Office of Undergraduate Studies, Academic Scheduling, and most recently the College of Business Dean's Office. She is currently responsible for RTP, including Late Adds, 1-3-5 Year Reviews, Post-Tenure Reviews, Tenure Clock Stops and DIP. She enjoys the new challenges this position has brought her.

Ryoko has a bachelors degree in Mathematics from SJSU, and when not working enjoys cooking and baking for her family.

Steph Rangel

Faculty Relations & Recruitment Analyst

Stephanie Rangel (Steph) graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development from San Jose State University while working as a student for the PEP Center. After graduation, she worked for an electronic representation company, and a mortgage company. Steph moved to Sacramento and worked for many years with the Sacramento Fire Department doing fiscal and planning work. After she married, she moved back to San Jose and went to work at San Jose State University in Administration and Finance. Then, Steph took many years off from work to spend time with and raise her family. Now, Steph is back to work and is in Faculty Affairs. She works on Sabbaticals, Recruitment, Range Elevations, Grievances, BFR Complaints, Equity and Faculty Status Cases.
