Enrollment Requirements for Disbursement of Financial Aid

  • Courses taken in an “Audit” status are not eligible for federal or state aid (including loans) and do not count within total units enrolled for receipt of financial aid.
  • Students enrolled through Open University are not eligible to receive federal or state aid however may qualify for private or alternative loans.
  • Financial aid awards are based on full-time enrollment.
  • Financial aid funds may be prorated for less than full-time enrollment. For less than full-time enrollment in any semester, complete the 2017-2018 Student Information Update Form after registration has occurred.

 

Below is the definition for full-time, three-quarter time, and half-time enrollment

 

Full-Time Enrollment:
  • 12 units and above for an Undergraduate, Post baccalaureate or Credential program
  • 8 units and above for a Graduate degree - 200 level or department approved coursework 

Three Quarter-Time Enrollment:
  • 9 – 11 units for an Undergraduate, Post baccalaureate or Credential program
  • 7 units for a Graduate degree - 200 level or department approved coursework

Half-Time Enrollment:
  • 6 -8 units for an Undergraduate, Post baccalaureate or Credential program
  • 4 -6 units for a Graduate degree - 200 level or department approved coursework
