Applying/Reapplying for 2009-2010 Aid

If you plan to attend SJSU during the Fall 2009 - Spring 2010 academic year and would like to apply for financial aid, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 2, 2009 for priority consideration.

Important Notes!

1. March 2, 2009 is the priority filing date for the FAFSA. If you will not complete your federal tax return by the priority filing date, use an estimated income on your FAFSA. Your application must be transmitted on-line or postmarked by March 2. You may still complete the FAFSA application after the priority filling date of March 2nd.

2. The federal school code for SJSU is 001155.

New Applicants (Students who have never applied for financial aid)

Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to learn about the FAFSA process and complete the application on-line.

Obtain a U.S. Department of Education PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. This PIN may serve as your electronic signature when completing your online FAFSA. Federal Student Aid (FSA) will send an e-mail with your PIN information and steps for using your PIN.

Re-new your FAFSA online by selecting 2009-2010 FAFSA at: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

If you lost or forgot your PIN, you can request a duplicate PIN by going to: www.pin.ed.gov
