Entrance Loan Counseling

Entrance loan counseling is mandatory for any federal student loan borrower who has not already attended loan counseling at SJSU. If you are a new borrower at SJSU you must complete Entrance Loan Counseling prior to receiving your first loan disbursement. There are no exceptions to this federal requirement.

Note: Loan checks will be returned to your lender 21 days after receipt at SJSU if you have not attended a loan counseling session .

There are two ways to complete the Entrance Loan Counseling Requirement:

1. Complete the requirement online

You may complete this requirement online by taking EdTe$t at www.edfund.org Make sure to select San Jose State as your school. When  you've passed the test, print the confirmation page for your records. Edfund will notify SJSU when you have completed the requirement.

2. Loan Counseling Entrance Interviews

If you would prefer to attend a Loan Counseling session in person, please come to a date scheduled below.
