Veterans Benefits

Federal Benefits

The Montgomery G.I. Bill provides educational benefits for participating individuals who served on active or reserve duty or in the Selective Reserves. Benefits are also available under the Veterans Educational Assistance Program.

Service-disabled veterans may be eligible for vocational rehabilitation benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Educational benefits are also available to dependents if the veteran (spouse or parent) died or was totally and permanently disabled in service, or is listed as missing in action. There is also a Veterans Work-Study and Tutorial Assistance Program.

California Veteran Program

Children and dependents of service-connected disabled veterans or service-related deceased veterans pay no mandatory system-wide registration fees at University of California, California State University or California Community College campuses.

For more information, contact the SJSU Veterans Affairs Office.
