The State of Californian and the CSU Delegate Building Permit Authority to the individual campuses. At San Jose State, this function is delegated to the campus Building Official who is a staff member of FD&O: Planning Design & Construction (PDC).

EUE supports the Building Official in the interpretation of issues related to Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire Codes.

EUE also assists other branches of FD&O and the campus community with professional engineering services.
