Graduate Program Test Requirements
Many of our graduate programs require that applicants take a standardized test before they may be admitted to the program. Refer to the following list to check whether the program you are applying to requires a particular test and what the specific score requirements are:

Programs that Require the GRE (Graduate Record Examination)
Aerospace Engineering
Only required if undergraduate degree is not from an accredited U.S./Canadian university.
Old Exam: Combined score in Verbal and Quantitative must be equal to or greater than
1100, and Analytical Writing Score must be 3.5 or above. New Exam: Combined score
in Verbal and Quantitative must be equal to greater than 312, and Analytical Writing
Score must be 3.5 or above.
Biological Sciences
Required if undergraduate degree is not from an accredited U.S./Canadian university.
All applicants in the Molecular Biology and Microbiology concentration must submit
general test scores and Advanced Subject Test score in Biology or Molecular Biology.
Biotechnology
General test plus Advanced Subject Test in a relevant subject of your choice required.
Chemistry
General test required.
Child and Adolescent Development
General test required.
Communication Studies
General test required, beginning Fall 2009.
Computer Engineering
Only required if undergraduate degree is not from an accredited U.S./Canadian university.
Old Exam: Quantitative score must be 650 or better, minimum combined score must be
1000 or better, and Analytical score must be 4.0 or better. New Exam: Quantitative
score must be 151 or better, minimum combined score must be 294 or better, and Analytical
score must be 4.0 of better.

Electrical Engineering

Journalism and Mass Communications
Old Exam: Combined minimum score of 1000 and at least a score of 550 on the verbal
section required. New Exam: Combined minimum score of 297 and at least a score of
5156 on the verbal section required.
Kinesiology
General test required. Minimum scores: 150 - verbal; 141 - quantitative
Mechanical Engineering
Only required if undergraduate degree is not from an accredited U.S./Canadian university.
Old Exam: Combined score in Verbal and Quantitative must be equal or greater than
1100, and Analytical Writing Score must be 3.5 or above. New Exam: Combined score
in Verbal and Quantitative must be equal or greater than 312, and Analytical Writing

Meteorology
General test required.
Occupational Therapy
Old Exam: Combined minimum GRE score of 1000, minimum GRE verbal score of 450, and
minimum writing score of 3.5. New Exam: Combined minimum GRE score of 297, minimum
GRE verbal score of 150, and minimum writing score of 3.5. In either case, a score
of 400 or above on the Miller Analogies Test recommended.
Psychology (Experimental)
General test required.
Psychology (Industrial/Organizational)
General test required.
Public Health
General test required.
Quality Assurance
Old Exam: Combined minimum score of 1000 required. New Exam: Combined minimum score
of 297 required.
Software Engineering

Urban and Regional Planning
General test recommended for all applicants but required of those whose cummulative
undergraduate GPA was below 3.0 (but above the university graduate-school minimum
of 2.5).

500 or better with balanced verbal and quantitative score at the 50th percentile
Business Administration
500 or better with balanced verbal and quantitative score at the 50th percentile
Taxation
500 or better with balanced verbal & quantitative score at the 50th percentile OR
passed all parts of the CPA exam OR score of 145 or better on the LSAT
Transportation Management
Score of 500 or better
