Program Leader: Deepa Singamsetti
Namaste! Deepa Singamsetti, MS RD, received her Masters in Nutritional Science from San Jose State University and her BA in Psychology and Economics from the University of California at Davis. She has been teaching courses in the Department of Nutrition, Food Science and Packaging at SJSU since 2008. She loves to teach and she loves to travel and leading Faculty Led Programs allows her to do both. She is excited to lead the Winter 2018 Faculty Led Program to Bangalore, India. The idea for creating this particular program stems from her own roots which are in South India and Bangalore to be specific. She was born in India but her family immigrated to the United States when she was just an infant. Growing up she made several trips back to India to visit extended family and as such speaks the language (Kannada) and is quite familiar with the food and culture in South India.
