Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors are the voice of GENERATE on campus.  Tasks will include classroom presentations, student engagement, and event planning.  Meet the newest members of our team!

Amy YangAmy Yang

Hello! My name is Amy Yang and I am a freshman majoring in Marketing. I started my college journey right here in San Jose State University. And the reason I fell in love with the campus is because it has a lot of resources and organizations that can help students become successful. My goal as the student ambassador is to make GENERATE as the place, the home to reach out for all the first- generation students, get connected as a family and find opportunities to be involved with their college life. During my free time, I like to listen to music, watch movies and traveling.

Crystal Perez

CrystalPerez

Crystal Perez is a freshmen at San Jose State majoring in civil engineering. She is a first generation student and the oldest of four children. Crystal was born and raised in San Jose, California but identifies strongly to her Mexican culture. She is very family oriented because she knows her family will always be there to support her. Crystal is involved in some extracurriculars but the ones she is most involved in is MEP and Grupo Folklorico Luna y Sol de San Jose State which she really enjoys doing. Her goals for her future would be to work in a company that works on becoming more eco friendly with the buildings and homes they construct. She would also like to open a center in an impoverished area to help other first generation students so they could also go to college.
