The Panhellenic Council governs the six (5 chapters + 1 colony) national general interest sororities at SJSU, which are members of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). All of the Panhellenic sororities maintain chapter houses surrounding campus, which offer members a group living alternative. You can meet Panhellenic members at the sorority tables, barbeques, and joint events during the first week of the fall semester. These organizations conduct one "formal rush" per year, just after classes begin in the fall. "Formal Rush," or Fall Recruitment, is a process where you have the opportunity to "rush" (consider membership in) all Panhellenic sororities. Thereafter, chapters with membership spaces remaining continue to accept new members throughout the academic year.
For more information on recruitment, please visit the San José State Panhellenic Council's website
The six member chapters of the PHC are as follows:
Alpha Omicron Pi
Alpha Phi
Alpha Xi Delta (colony)
Delta Gamma
Delta Zeta
Kappa Delta
