About Sigma Omega Phi Multicultural Sorority, Inc.

Sigma Omega Phi believes in opening minds through culture, education and unity. We were established on April 26, 1990, on the CSU Chico campus. Our philanthropy is to bring awareness and to prevent child abuse and neglect, as well as women empowerment. We are a sorority that takes great pride in the sisterhood we have.

History of the Delta Chapter

Our Delta Chapter was founded on October 16, 1999. Our chapter was founded by 5 beautiful, dedicated and strong ladies. With their hard work and commitment to this organization, we have grown to have 57 sisters in total from the day Delta Chapter was established at SJSU. We pride ourselves in being the Sophisticated Few, holding a strong bond between sisters and dedicated ourselves to making our values and morals head. Traditional events include our children’s carnival called SOPhreaky. SOPhreaky is an event where we host a small carnival on campus allowing children and their families to have fun in a safe environment. We also host Adopt-a-Family and Adopt-a-Classroom. These two events are held in December that we partake in with Lambda Theta Phi Fraternity Inc. We choose a classroom and a family in need within our community and donate all items that are needed within the classroom and family. SOPhi Royalty is a fundraiser event we host to raise money, in order to donate to an organization of our choosing. Women’s Symposium is an event we host for young women, in middle schools or high schools within our community.
