Unrecognized Student Organizations
Student organizations (including fraternities and sororities) that have lost official recognition or that have never sought recognition at SJSU are considered unrecognized organizations. Unrecognized organizations have none of the benefits of recognized student organizations and may not claim association with SJSU. Student organizations listed on the online directory are considered recognized.
Similarly, SJSU cannot guarantee that unrecognized fraternities and sororities operate in compliance with the policies and high standards expected of recognized chapters in terms of recruitment/intake, new member education, risk management, and student success.
We urge caution when associating with unrecognized organizations and their activities.
Organizations that have lost or were never affiliated with San José State University include:
