WEEK ONE EVENTS

Monday, August 20

Target Night
10:30pm-12:30am, Target on Coleman Avenue - Shuttles depart from Housing
Join us for a late-night shopping event at Target just for SJSU students. Free shuttles to and from Target, giveaways, prizes, and entertainment.

Tuesday, August 21

Fall Welcome Days Kick-Off
3:00-5:00pm, Tower Lawn at SJSU
This is the event that kicks off the Fall semester. It is away for incoming students to meet new people and be introduced to different department and organization. Come join the fun with free food, attractions, games, and live performances.

Wednesday, August 22

Welcome Hour - Department of Nutrition, Food Science & Packaging
1:30-2:30pm, Industrial Studies 229
We welcome students in the Nutrition, Food Science and Packaging Department to join us for some refreshments as well as an opportunity to meet the student organization officers and faculty and staff.  

EOP Garage Sale & Welcome Back BBQ
1:30-3:30pm, 7th Street BBQ Pits
The EOP Garage Sale and Welcome Back BBQ is a chance for EOP students to grab school supplies, some burgers and connect with other members of the Educational Opportunity Program.

MOSAIC Open House
12:00-3:00pm, MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center, top floor of Student Union
The MOSAIC Open House is for students and families to come and learn about MOSAIC while mingling with current students, staff, and faculty. Learn how to get involved with MOSAIC. There will be food and prizes!

Career Center Open House
1:00-3:00pm, Career Center, Administration Building Room 154
Need a job? Access opportunites to earn money or to prepare for your career! We welcome all students to visit the Career Center to learn more about our services and events.

EOP Ice Cream Social
2:30-4:00pm, In front of Clark Hall
The EOP Ice Cream Social is a chance for EOP students to come together, enjoy some ice cream, and catch up with each other.

College of Engineering New Student Welcome Barbeque

The College of Engineering will host a New Engineering Students Welcome BBQ for new freshmen and transfer students. Meet Engineering faculty and staff, and get acquainted with our academic success services and student organizations.

College of Business Passport to Success @ SJSU

See some fun educational videos and posters created by students in courses that include travel abroad, consulting for a local community of multinational organization, or pitching an entrepreneurial venture and enjoy a quick lunch.

Peer Connections Learning and Memory Workshop

This workshop will introduce students to learning and memory strategies that, when used properly, can maximize their study time.

Peer Connections Introduction to College Writing
1:00-2:00pm, Student Services Center 603
Students will get an overview of composition essays, research papers, and the Writing Skills Test, along with writing resources to start the academic year right.

Sing, Sing, Sing - Yum, Yum, Yum - Open SJSU Choir Rehearsal
1:30-3:20pm, Music Building 150
Come to the Open SJSU Choir Rehearsal and enjoy singing and free food. Open to all majors! Sponsored by American Choral Directors Association Student Chapter.

SING! Auditions for SJSU Choir Ensembles

Spartan Squad Kickoff

Spartan Squad will be handing out Spartan Squad shirts, serving free ice cream, and giving out information about upcoming sporting events at SJSU. Go Spartans!

Family Night for First-Generation College Students

The Family Night for First-Generation College Students is a place for students and their families to discuss the college experience and increase sources of support for academic success. Sponsored by Counseling Services, MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center, and the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs.
