SOLC Student Co-Chairs

About the PositionS

Student Involvement offers two dynamic leadership positions for emerging undergraduate student leaders. The student co-chairs will serve as members of the Student Organization Leadership Conference planning committee and will work closely with the program coordinator and committee with the successful execution of the event.

Co-Chair Responsibilities

The Marketing and Communications Student Co-Chair will:

  • Work closely with the Committee Chair (Student Involvement Leadership Coordinator) to assist in communication, registration and marketing efforts for the Conference
  • Attend one-on-one meetings with the Committee Chair and SOLC committee meetings
  • Coordinate the registration process for student organizations (maintain data records, contact organizations & participants via phone and email)
  • Assist in marketing efforts for the event such as work with the Design Specialist to produce flyers, create banners, correspond with the Spartan Daily, etc.
  • Coordinate the conference check-in process
  • Serve as a liaison to the volunteers and create a volunteer placement schedule
  • Collect, organize and analyze conference assessment data and feedback
  • Create speech to welcome and address conference attendees the day of conference

The Programs and Presenters Student Co-Chair will:

  • Work closely with the Committee Chair (Student Involvement Leadership Coordinator) to assist in program development and conference presenters recruitment
  • Attend one-on-one meetings with the committee chair and SOLC committee meetings
  • Design the program schedule and secure equipment for each program
  • Serve as a liaison with faculty/staff presenters
  • Develop and facilitate orientation sessions for presenters
  • Organize the presenter check-in table, resource room and thank-you gifts
  • Collect, organize and analyze programs/presenter assessment data and feedback from the sessions
  • Create speech to welcome and address conference attendees the day of conference
