The Accessible Education Center (AEC) facilitates provision of accommodations and services for disabled students. Students requesting accommodations on such grounds must be registered with the AEC. 

Affordable Textbook Program

This program is geared towards students receiving financial aid grants. Students who meet program criteria may apply for a textbook rental voucher in the first two weeks of the fall and spring semesters. Vouchers are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Associated Students Computer Services Center

The Associated Students Computer Services Center (ASCSC) provides free use of desk-top computers on site as well as a low-cost laptop rental program. The Computer Center's service counter has a scanner, copy machines, fax services and printers, and computer repair services are available. 

Counseling and Psychological Services

SJSU's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers individual, couples, group, and educational counseling services. Students are encouraged to contact CAPS for any support needed. Operational hours are Mondays - Thursdays; 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM and Fridays; 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. For assistance after hours, call (408)924-5910 and press 4 to reach the after-hours crisis service. 

Gender Equity Center

SJSU's Gender Equity Center advocates for social justice, respect, and safety for all members of the San José State University community. The Center works to empower students and to educate the campus community about issues experienced by people because of their gender, gender identity, and/or their perceived gender/gender identity, through an intersectional lens.

Peer Connections staff and peer tutors are trained and nationally certified to tutor students in course content and teach them learning skills to achieve academic excellence. Our peer mentors are also trained and nationally certified as guides to assist students navigating the sometimes unclear paths to their degree. 

PRIDE Center

SJSU's PRIDE Center supports LGBTIQQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, Ally) students of San José State University. Through dynamic programming and educational outreach, the PRIDE Center seeks to improve the campus climate for LGBTIQQA students and advocates for the respect and safety of all members of the campus community.

The University Ombudsman provides impartial and confidential consultation to members of the campus community who are concerned about a situation or issue. The Ombudsperson helps interpret SJSU policies and procedures, clarifies issues and generates options for resolution, and recommends actions and makes referrasl to on-campus resources.

The University Police Department Serves all of San José State University 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. UPD provides emergency response services and range of educational programs that ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff as well as visitors on campus.

Writing Center

The Writing Center offer a variety of resources to help students become better writers, from one-on-one tutoring sessions to a variety of writing workshops. All services are free to SJSU students.
