Careers in Aging Week is a national effort to encourage undergraduate and graduate students to consider working with older adults in their future careers. Co-sponsored by the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) and the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE), Careers in Aging Week is celebrated by colleges and universities around the U.S. SJSU has been participating in Careers in Aging Week since it first began. In 2010, the SJSU celebration of Careers in Aging Week was highlighted in the Geronology News, the newsletter of GSA. In 2011, SJSU hosted five panels and a wonderful performance by the Sizzling Seniors. In total over 300 students across many departments participated in Careers in Aging Week 2011 at SJSU. Special thanks to FPHA leaders Jessica Saini, Maureen Killoran, Debbie Lopez, and Monica Macer for making these events successful!
