This page is designed to help you setup the e-mail client Eudora Version 7 as a client for the main university e-mail servers.
Before you Proceed
This what you need to know to configure e-mail client software:
- Your user name and password
- Your incoming server settings
- Your outgoing server settings

Procedure
This shows you how to configure the Eudora e-mail client to work with an IMAP account. Accounts in Eudora are called "personalities." This assumes you just downloaded and are using Eudora for the first time. To set up a an IMAP account in a newly installed Eudora e-mail client, follow these instructions:
- Launch Eudora by double-clicking on the Eudora desktop icon. An introduction to Eudora will pop up. Click OK.
- The New Account Wizard will open. Select Create a brand new e-mail account.
- In the Personality Name: field, enter a name for your account (i.e. SJSU e-mail). Click Next.
- A Personal Information window will open. In the Your Name: field, enter your name as you want it to appear. Click Next.
- In the E-mail Address: field, enter your SJSU e-mail address. Click Next.
- In the User Name: field, enter your user name. Click Next.
- In the Incoming Server: field, enter your incoming server setting. For Type of Server, select IMAP. Click Next.
- Do not enter anything in the IMAP Location Prefix: field. Click Next.
- In the Outgoing Server: field, enter your outgoing server setting. Only select the Allow Authentication option if that is required by your ISP and click Next.
- Click Finish.
- A window will open and prompt you to enter a password for your mailbox. In the Password: field, enter the password and click OK.
- Your new Eudora Personality is now operational.
