About this page
This page is designed to provide information you may need to have to use your Web browser to access Webmail for the main university e-mail (Lotus Notes) server.
Before you Proceed
This what you need to know to configure Webmail to be your e-mail client software:
- Your user name and your password
If you do not have the information listed above then go to this page.
Configuring
Lotus Notes Webmail Access
Using Webmail to access your Lotus Notes account from off-campus
- Using any browser, just type: http://webmail.sjsu.edu
- Enter your full name, NOT your user name. This is a search of the Notes address directory from outside, and the search is done by name.
- Click on "open my mail," it's the box under the Webmail Finder.
- The next box you'll see is Server Login. Enter your user name here (enter the full name of the e-mail account in this format: user.name@sjsu.edu)
Getting all your e-mail could take a while, especially the first time. If this is the first time you are getting your Notes mail off campus using Webmail, and there is a lot of mail in your inbox at work, the first time will download every message. It is recommended that you clean out your inbox before you start this process. - Remember: you can check your messages anywhere off the Internet with webmail.sjsu.edu and a Web browser.
