
In March 1992, OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030 took effect. This standard is for anyone who can reasonably expect to come in contact with blood or potentially infectious materials as part of their job.
At SJSU, this includes all employees who work directly with blood or bodily fluids, such as medical staff, custodial staff and first responders. These employees receive annual training in exposure control by recognizing and controlling BBP hazards.
