Emergency Hire

The emergency hire process is typically used to get someone on board immediately and bypass the recruiting process in the short term. Ideally, if the vacancy needs to be filled on a permanent basis you will open a recruitment at the same time or shortly after the appointment of the emergency hire employee.

Follow your internal department and division processes for approving emergency hire appointments then submit a Temporary Support Request (.pdf), along with a Position Description outlining the responsibilities of the position, the employee’s application and resume.
