Sponsoring Interns

For internships as well as career placement, our Department has developed a strong partnership with the career center. The SJSU career center is a place where the community looks for SpartaJobs employees/interns in addition to the place where students can look for internships and jobs. The SJSU Career Center is a web-based resource, completely searchable and designed to make it easy for students to find and make connections with community employers. The career center also has numerous workshops and materials related to both Internships [pdf] and jobs.

The Spring/Summer/Fall internship advisors/instructors are:

Alice Southwell (408.826.2472) for Hopitality, Recreation & Tourism Management Internships.

Dr. Randy J. Virden (408.924.3199) for Recreation Management & Therapeutic Recreation Internships.

Giving to HRTM

The Department of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism Management welcomes donations. If you would like to discuss a gift, please contact Dr. Randy J. Virden at either (408)924-3199 or Randy.Virden@sjsu.edu to explain your preferences.

Currently, donors have the option to support the HRTM Department through the Chair's Fund for Excellence and/or HRTM Undergraduate Scholarship Support by making a gift in the amount of their choosing. In this case, please make check payable to "Tower Foundation", and send to: Department of HRTM. San Jose State University, One Washington Square, San Jose, CA 95192-0211.
