The $1,000 scholarships are awarded to Hispanic students. Students must submit a personal profile consisting of name, address, phone number, Social Security number, age, ethnic background, and college major; a photograph; a one-page essay outlining their financial situation; official, sealed transcripts demonstrating that the applicant is a college sophomore, junior, or senior with at least a 3.0 GPA; two letters of recommendation; and a two-page essay.

Residencies are available to persons involved in creative, not interpretive, work in the fields of writing, painting, sculpture, musical composition, and allied arts. Residency grants are made in the form of rent-free and utility-free accommodations, normally for three months.
