H&A Strategic Planning Process
In fall 2012, the College of Humanities and the Arts initiated a strategic planning process to guide the College to its next level by articulating College goals and aspirations and making plans to achieve those goals.
Strategic planning in the College of Humanities and the Arts is driven by a deep commitment to collaboration, dialogue, assessment, and input.
The first phase of strategic planning was critical: in 2012-13, the College established a Transition Taskforce to assist with the development and execution of a collaborative information-gathering and analysis process. Faculty, staff, students, and community members had the opportunity to provide input via a SWOT survey and an online open text link to this site.
Once the data were gathered, the Taskforce synthesized and analyzed the data, thereby deriving the core values, a tentative mission statement, and goals that aligned with those values and the data.
All documents distributed to the College in 2012-13 regarding strategic planning are
made public here in an effort to be as transparent and open as possible about strategic
planning and its importance to Humanities and the Arts. Input about the strategic
plan can be submitted directly to Dean Lisa Vollendorf.
