F-1 Transfer Students: How to Apply
- Submit an online application, application fee, and all required documents.
Submit an online application and pay the $150 non-refundable application fee. We recommend applying at least 3 weeks prior to the program start date.
You will receive a confirmation email from our admissions office with your User ID and PIN number to the Admissions Tracking Site. The ATS is the fastest and most efficient way to check your application status.
Submit all required documents to email@example.com. Required documents must be submitted at least 3 weeks prior to the program start date.
Academic and Test Preparation (ATP)
Semester at SJSU (SAS)
- Have your SEVIS record transferred to International Gateways.
You will receive an acceptance letter once you are admitted to our program. You must submit your acceptance letter to your current school so they can transfer your SEVIS record electronically to San Jose State University, International and Extended Studies.
- Pay tuition.
After your SEVIS record has been transferred to our program, you will receive a tuition payment email with directions on how to pay full tuition for your first term. Review our refund policy prior to paying full tuition.
- Purchase Health Insurance.
Purchase the health insurance plan available at International Gateways. Visit our Health Insurance page for more information.
- Check in at the International Gateways Office.
Transfer students are required to report to the International Gateways office within 15 days of the start of their session. You can find the last date to report to our office on your International Gateways acceptance letter.
You must bring your passport and proof of health insurance when you report to our office.
- Pick up Transfer I-20 during Orientation Week.
