Mandatory Health Insurance for International Students
The Board of Trustees of the California State University (CSU) requires all international students to have health insurance as a condition of registration and continued enrollment in the California State University system.
You are required to purchase the health insurance plan (offered at International Gateways) online before you arrive in the United States. Dependents of F-1 students are also recommended to have health insurance while they are in the United States.
The health insurance plan, administered by Aetna, is a comprehensive low-cost insurance plan that includes coverage for illness and injury, medical evacuation, and repatriation. Please see link below to purchase the required insurance plan.
If you would like coverage during flight and travel time to the United States, we suggest purchasing a travel insurance for the period of time before your Wells Fargo – Aetna health insurance coverage comes into effect.
