Arrival Program Information

All international students on F-1 or J-1 status must report to the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) Office to complete the immigration document check-in.  Bring your passport and your current and any previous I-20 documents to Clark Hall, room 543 upon your arrival to the University.  Failure to complete this process may put you in violation of your legal F-1 student status.
Documents required:
*The ISSS Office will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 20 due to Graduate Student Orientation.

ISSS offers a Arrival Program that provides a complete overview of the U.S. immigration regulations that must be followed for an F-1 international student to remain legally in the U.S.  In addition, the Program provides supplemental information to assist international students with their transition to SJSU. The Arrival Program covers topics such as how to correctly transfer immigration status from another U.S. institution to SJSU and immigration regulations pertaining to both transfer students as well as students who have just arrived in the U.S.

We recommend that all new students check the following topics, prepare their questions and try to get some things done before the Arrival Program. Print out the To-Do List (pdf), go over the things you can do now and record important dates to remember.
