Join our weekly Global Connections meetup to connect with people from around the world, explore cultural topics, and learn tips for improving your overall well being. 

Each week we rotate through different themes:

  • S=Social: Meet others, play games, and hang out.
  • C=Culture: Develop intercultural skills and explore cultural topics.   
  • W=Wellness: Tips & tricks to a healthy mind and body.
  • L&L=Lunch & Learn: Enjoy lunch while learning from a guest speaker.

[S] August 26: Fall Kick Off Event (FREE LUNCH)
Let’s start the year off right! Join us for lunch, new friends, games, and conversation.

[C] September 9: Understanding U.S. Culture
Get creative and explore culture with us through hands-on activities and shared discussion. Snacks will be provided.

[W] September 16: Stress Management--Being Mindful
Be calm. Be mindful. We’ll learn tips and do some activities to help you de-stress. 

[C] September 23: Making Friends at SJSU
How do you meet people? When does someone become a friend and not an acquaintance? Let’s chat about friendships and what it’s like making friends while doing a fun activity. Snacks will be provided.

[S] September 30: Fun & Games
Take a study break and relax with some board games. Snacks will be provided.

[L&L] October 7: Dating & Healthy Relationships (FREE LUNCH)
Special guest speakers from Wellness & Health Promotion will give a talk about dating and how to maintain healthy relationships. 

[S] October 14: Fun & Games
Take a study break and relax with some board games. Snacks will be provided.

[W] October 21: Stress Management--Thinking Positively
Midterms got you stressed? Learn tips to help you turn those negative thoughts into positive ones. Snacks will be provided.

[S,C] October 28: Halloween Fun
Halloween-themed activities will get you in the spirit of things. Snacks will be provided.

[L&L] November 4: Career Advice (FREE LUNCH)
Join us for a presentation by Judi Garcia, Career Center Counselor.

[C] November 18: Resolving Differences
Celebrate International Education Week with us as we look into how to get along across cultural differences. Snacks will be provided.

[W] November 25: Stress Management--Self-Compassion
Don’t forget to take care of yourself and show yourself some compassion as well! Learn tips for managing stress during this busy time of year. Snacks will be provided.

[S,C] December 2: Holiday Party (FREE LUNCH)
