This fall will see the debut of a new and improved 110A, the MIS intro course that our students take in place of the business core course 188 taken by non-MIS students. The new version will feature new faculty, new content, and a fresh perspective starting with an intense, all-online, interactive MIS overview module from Harvard Business School. Then, students get a close-up look at information systems from the inside out with hands-on labs in application development, culminating in a mini web/database project. We hope the new version will give students a clearer understanding of the field and will better prepare them for later courses like the 119A practicum course and the 118W web-based computing elective, as well as their future careers.
