Dr. Ann Lucas

ALucas-Memorial-Pic

It is with considerable sadness that we share with you that Dr. Ann Lucas recently passed away after a brief illness with cancer.  Ann's collegiality, professionalism, kindness, and compassion will be greatly missed by her family and friends, as well as the many students she mentored, and her colleagues at San Jose State University and throughout the United States.  Her roots are deep in the Bay Area where she earned her J.D. and Ph.D. from Berkeley and was the editor of the Berkeley Women's Law Journal.  Ann served as a faculty member in the Justice Studies Department for 9-years, where her strong dedication to our students and department, enhanced the quality of all our lives.

A Celebration of Life

1:00pm-4:00pm

East of Eden Events Banquet Hall

This Celebration will be an informal gathering where friends and family can get together, mingle and share memories of Ann.  We will have memory boards, pictures, albums, videos, etc. for everyone to look at.

We hope to share some of the many aspects of Ann's life: the child, teenager, activist, adventurer, academic, and educator. People will also be given the opportunity to share fun stories.  If you are too shy to speak in front of an audience, write your story and we will have someone read it for you.

Food/drinks/dessert will be served.

Please RSVP by email so that we can get an approximate headcount. Email: rob_katsura@yahoo.com

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local Humane Society, the UC Davis Center for Companion Animal Health (CCAH), or your favorite charity.
