LLD Secures a Grant for $1.1 million!
Congratulations to the Department of Linguistics & Language Development for securing a grant from the U.S. State Department for 1.1 million dollars to establish a partnership program in Applied Linguistics with the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan. This is a great honor for the department and a testament to the hard work of the department chair, Dr. Swathi Vanniarajan.
LLD Students Produce Outstanding MA Theses!
The following students in our graduate programs were the winners of the Outstanding Thesis Competition within the College of Humanities and Arts:
Yi-An Chen's 2012 thesis is titled "A Study on Taiwanese International Students and Taiwanese American Students: The Interface between Naming and Identity."
Fábio de Oliveira Coelho's 2011 thesis is titled "Academic Writing Development through Dialogues between Tutors and Second Language Learners." [ abstract ]
Young Min Seo's 2010 thesis is titled "I'm Korean, Living in the United States" [ abstract ]
