You are cordially invited to the MAS Convocation Ceremony!
The Mexican American Studies department would like to celebrate your hard work and determination in completing an academic program. Our convocation ceremony is open to all 2014-2015 graduates who are MAS Master’s students; MAS Minors; and/or graduates involved in SAHE and MEXA.
As a participant, you will:
- See your name and photo in our program
- Receive a special certificate
- Be invited to share a few words with your loved ones
- Enjoy a post-ceremony reception with light refreshments
How to RSVP
Please use our registration form to RSVP and provide your information to be included in our program.
Through the generous donations of our faculty, staff, and community this event is free to graduates and their families. However, please keep in mind we are limited to a room capacity of 120 people.
Parking is free at all SJSU lots the entire day. Please visit our campus map for parking garage locations. The Fourth Street garage located on the corner of 4th and San Fernando Street and directly across from the Martin Luther King Library is not a SJSU garage and parking fees will apply.
We ask that all graduates arrive starting at 1:00 p.m. and no later than 1:30. Please line up outside of room 225/229, in the lobby area. Graduates should wear their regalia. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m.
The first two rows are reserved for (up to two) special guests of the graduate's choosing. The rest of the seats are open seating and is first come first served. Doors will not open to guests until 1:30 p.m. As a courtesy to everyone, we ask that balloons be lowered or stored in the back so that all our guests can have a chance to view the ceremony.
Immediately following the ceremony, please join us for light refreshments in MLK 225/229.
Congratulations, and we hope you will join us!
