Calculus Placement Exam Dates
The General Testing Dates below are open to all SJSU students (incoming frosh and transfer students as well as current SJSU students).
Incoming frosh students also have the option to take the CPE on the morning of their first day of orientation at 7:30 am (see the Orientation and Transitions Programs page for orientation dates and information). Frosh students are still required to register for the CPE prior to their orientation. If you do not see your registration date on the CPE Sign-up Form, please contact the Math Department.

How do I register?
You can register online via the Online Registration Form. You can also contact the Math Department if the online registration form is not loading properly or if you have any questions.
Note: Online registration ends at 3:30 pm the day before the exam.
How can I prepare for the test?
An explanation of the material covered on each part of the test and a link to a practice exam can be found on the Preparation for the CPEpage.
What do I need to bring with me?
On the day of the exam you will need to bring your confirmation email (a printout or a copy on your phone), photo ID (SJSU Student ID preferred), a pencil or pen, and the $20 fee in the form of cash or check--we cannot accept credit or debit cards. No calculators are allowed on the test.

What method of payment is accepted?
The $20 payment can be made in the form of cash or check. Checks should be made payable to San Jose State University (SJSU). Payment should be made on the day of the exam.
