Q. Do I qualify for the MSME program?
A. To be eligible for the admission you must satisfy the ME department requirements along with the University requirements.

Q. What are the tuition fees?
A. Visit the GAPE page for a list of tuition fees site for each semester.
Q. I am a foreign student and just got admitted, what courses should I take?
A. You should attend the New Students Orientation before taking any classes. The orientation is scheduled at the beginning of a semester. You will be notified by email, detailing the schedule and place of the meeting.
Q. I am an International student, do I submit my transcript to the ME department?
A. No. The department does not accept any applications. All application materials and related questions must be submitted to the admissions office.
Q. Do you have any financial assistance available for me?
A. Almost all of the graduate students in the department are self-supporting, The department doesn't offer any scholarship or financial assistance. However, there are some limited opportunities as lab assistants and graders. Some TA positions come with full or partial tuition waivers. Check with the department after you have been admitted and enrolled for classes.
Q. What is a Conditional Classification?
A. Conditional Classification status means that you have not satisfied all the required conditions for admission. The GAPE office provides you a letter which specifies the conditions being placed on your admission. You are not allowed to take more than 12 units of graduate courses until the conditions are satisfied.
Q. What is Classified status?
A. Classified status indicates that your admission is without any conditions. If there were no conditions imposed on your admission originally, you were granted a classified status. However, if there were some conditions placed on your admission, you have to satisfy those conditions and have the graduate advisor process a Change of Condition form, which will change your admission from conditional to the classified status.

Q. Who is my program adviser?

Q. I have received a notice of being placed on probation, what should I do?
A. Probation is a warning that you can be disqualified from the program. It's a serious matter. Once you are on probation, you must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better in the subsequent semesters, otherwise you would be disqualified from the program. Discuss your options with the graduate advisor.
Q. I have received a notice of being disqualified what should I do?
A. Disqualification means losing your admission status and must reapply for re-admission. However, before you can apply, you need to get reinstated. See the university process for reinstatement and the reinstatement form.
Q. I have completed most of the courses; what forms do I need to submit for graduation?
A. You need to file the Candidacy form, which has to be approved by the Graduate Advisor. You also need to apply for graduation online. You will be emailed with a prompt to do so several weeks after you candidacy form is approved. Instuctions are posted online.
Q. Are all your graduate course offered in the evenings?
A. Yes, all the graduate course are scheduled to start at 4:30 PM and after.
Q. What is Culminating Experience?
A. Culminating Experience Form is required by the university to show that you have met the necessary skills to obtain an MSME degree. The form is processed by the graduate advisor after you have passed the Project or Thesis course successfully and your final report has been approved by your graduate committee.
