Maya Esparza has worked for the public and non-profit sectors, as well as serving as an elected official. A San José native and Franklin-McKinley School District Boardmember, Maya has dedicated her career to public service and building community in San José. Following three years as the director of the county’s 2-1-1 system, she is now Director of “All The Way Home,” a campaign to end veteran homelessness by 2017. The campaign is a collaboration of the City of San José, Santa Clara County and the Housing Authority. Destination: Home, a system disrupting program of The Health Trust, is a public-private partnership that uses collective impact strategies to accomplish its mission, ending homelessness in Santa Clara County. Previously she was the Vice-President of Community Outreach and Services for the Silicon Valley American Red Cross, and before that the Congressional Assistant to Congressmember Zoe Lofgren in her San José District Office.
Maya teaches PADM 220 Non Profit Management for the MPA program.
