MUSE - Information for Faculty: Getting (more) Involved

Getting (more) Involved

Besides (or in addition to) teaching a MUSE course and/or leading a MUSE Workshop, you might want to get involved in one of the following activities:

Scholarship of Teaching

Conduct a research project on any of the various aspects of the implementation, operation, and/or assessment of these new programs at SJSU.

Building a Student Web Site

If you have materials that would be useful to place on a web site where students can go for tips on such things as time management, studying, dealing with exam anxiety, etc., we could use them on our site!

Promoting

Help spread the word - encourage students you meet at orientations who will be starting their first year of college in Fall 2004 to sign up for a MUSE course, encourage a colleague who would be an excellent teacher and role model and adviser for first-year students to teach a MUSE course and/or lead a workshop. There will also be a need for faculty to identify upper division students who would be good peer mentors and encourage them to apply to become a peer mentor.
