SJSU is a great and diverse school and we hope you have a successful and fun experience here. Here are a few tips we'd like to offer, based on our experience, to help you start your time at SJSU successfully:
Get to know your professors. Try to talk to at least one of them. Visit them during their office hours, ask them about their subject, about SJSU, and about how to succeed as a student here. Most SJSU professors are caring and really interested in helping you to succeed.
Get to know your peers. Talk to other students outside of class. They can help you to study, choose courses, and learn your way around the campus. Also, knowing other students can help you feel like a part of the SJSU community. You can make friends who will be with you for life.
