Jazz Orchestra
SMD hosts a number of elite jazz ensembles, such as Dr. Aaron Lington's Jazz Orchestra, Professor Jeff Lewis' Jazz Band, and a number of jazz combos.
Concert Choir
The Concert Choir perform in the beautiful Mission Santa Clara with SJSU's Orchestra in a combined concert.

The San José State University ensembles enjoy a long and distinguished reputation for outstanding performances at home, on tour, and at state and national conferences. The goal of our ensembles is to provide a quality musical, educational, and cultural experience for all participants. SJSU ensembles offer a variety of performing opportunities for all students of all majors and provide an excellent opportunity to become involved in University life and to meet students with similar musical interests.
