As an undergraduate, Jennifer Gerlach completed both a BA in Music and a BS in Biology at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She has continued to pursue both of her passions, earning a MS in Biology from Fresno State University under the direction of Dr. Paul Crosbie and a MA in Music from San Jose State University under the direction of Dr. Diana Hollinger. For her MS in Biology, she conducted research on the phylogeographic relationships of drug-resistant head lice in the Bay Area and Central Valley. For her MA in Music, she studied the neuroscience of music cognition.
Jennifer has been teaching for the past eight years at the community college, high school, and junior high levels. She has a strong passion for teaching and loves the challenges and freedoms presented by each age group. In her classes, she especially enjoys exploring concepts and topics that bridge the space between her two disciplines.
