Garrison Keillor -- author, screenwriter, musician, actor and host of one of the nation's most popular live variety radio shows, "A Prairie Home Companion" -- is the recipient of the 2007 John Steinbeck Award, co-presented by San José State University's Martha Heasley Cox Center for Steinbeck Studies and the National Steinbeck Center museum in Salinas. Author Thomas Steinbeck, John Steinbeck's son, will present the honor to Keillor before Keillor appears at a City Arts & Lectures event at the Marin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium on Tuesday, September 25.
