San José State students are organizing an informal gathering at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, on El Paseo near the Event Center to remember the victims of last week's attacks on Mumbai. Organizers are asking campus community members to stop by and spend 10 minutes in silence or prayer for those affected by the tragedy. Consider wearing white, the traditional color of mourning in India. Near the end of the event, around 12:30 p.m., the group will sing the Indian national anthem. Steve Sloan, an IT Support Services Specialist and journalism lecturer, is inviting the campus community to take part in an open mic podcast on Mumbai at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, in Clark 116. "SJSU has a huge community of Indian students. They are very far from home. They have their own unique perspectives on the recent terrorist attacks in India. Some may like to be able to share their perspectives with friends and family, both here and back home," Sloan wrote.
