Grantwriter: Kaiser Family Foundation Eastside Initiative to increase the numbers of minority students in health careers at SJSU.  This 21 month grant for $100,000 funded recruitment, mentoring and retention activities for high school students. January 1991 September 1992.

 

Grantwriter: Teagle Foundation Program to facilitate Licensed Vocational Nurses' baccalaureate education.  This 3 year $270,000 grant  funded stipends, evaluation, recruitment, retention and curriculum revision in the Department of Nursing.  July 1990 - July 1993.

 

Principal Investigator:  Drug-Exposed Under Care Kids.  A collaborative research project with the Department of Public Health Nursing, Santa Clara County, to describe longitudinal effects of cocaine and PCP exposure on newborns.  The study developed an intervention protocol for public health nurses working with the infants' caregivers. 1988-1990.

 

Principal Investigator:  Health Promotion Behaviors Among SJSU Students.  A survey to assess health promotion behaviors and their correlates among SJSU students, 1989.

 

Principal Investigator:  Organizational Evaluation and Professional Education: Clinical Evaluation of Nursing Students.  This study focused on the social factors predicting effort and socialization among nursing students.  Unpublished PhD dissertation, Stanford University, 1987.
