One of the key elements to developing a sustainable program
is successful fund raising. There are many ways for you
to support San Jose State's School of Nursing.
Our objective is to raise $1.5M by our 50th anniversary
in 2005. We are well on our way to our 2005 target, having
exceeded the 2002 target of $125,000 by raising $340,000.
Our long-time individual and corporate sponsors have contributed
over the years, and we thank each of you. We now hope to
expand participation in fund raising and reach out to former
students and faculty and additional corporate sponsors.

The following are our multi-year objectives:
- Increase student support.
We want to attract the best and brightest from all walks
of life. We will do this through continued student support
in the form of scholarships, work-study and other support
systems.
- Expand the number of undergraduate
slots. The healthcare community is crying out for
more nurses and we would like to expand the number of
slots in our traditional program and in a newly designed
program that makes it easier for people that work full
time to attend classes.
- Develop a Technology Center of Excellence.
Nurses are central to the patient care experience. Rapidly
changing technology is essential in healthcare. We will
design a program to help nurses effectively integrate
technology into their care delivery and become leaders
in this evolving field.
