The Advanced Certificate in MBOT program is a post-baccalaureate advanced certificate for licensed health professionals who have completed an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program. Healthcare professionals other than occupational therapists, including professionals such as (but not limited to) speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, recreation therapists, nurses, physician’s assistants, physicians, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and respiratory therapists will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. You must hold a current license to practice in their degree of study. Healthcare professionals who are not currently licensed due to a career change may be considered for enrollment.

We are keeping enrollment low to provide ample mentoring opportunities and we anticipate this program will fill quickly.
Required Application Documents:
- A personal statement/letter of intent. Applicants will prepare a two-page (double-spaced 12-point font) personal statement/letter of intent outlining their goals in seeking the MBOT certificate, and describing their experience with mindfulness practice/training, meditation retreats, current mindfulness practices, whether or not they use mindfulness in their work currently, and what motivated them to apply for this program at this time.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) (in-person wherever possible) course participation - applicants must submit documentation demonstrating they have completed an 8-week (9 -10 sessions [2.5 to 3 hours per week] with All-Day Retreat Session) MBSR course. Find an MBSR teacher near you.
Any license, degree or other documentation as a healthcare professional, if available. While a background in healthcare is preferred, it is not required. For example, students of occupational and physical therapy are eligible to apply. Professionals in medicine, nursing, caregiving, respiratory therapy, education, social work, or related fields may also apply.
Proof of participation in MBOT Certificate Program Orientation / Information /Introductory Session offered in person or online by MBOT program instructors. You can watch this 9-minute information session video and provide us the access code mentioned inside as a proof of your participation. (List the code on your letter-of-intent).

3. International applicants (or applicants who earned their degrees in a country where the primary language is not English), must meet the following requirements:
TOEFL score of 600 (paper version) or 250 (computer version) or 100 (Internet-based) or IELTS score of 8.
If you are applying to the program from any country outside the United States – there is no need to obtain a visa. You can apply as a Special Session student, and complete the certificate online from outside the United States.
