Andrew Altschul was a Wallace Stegner Fellow and Jones Lecturer at Stanford University. He has taught previously in the MFA programs at the University of San Francisco, Mills College, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He is the author of the novel Lady Lazarus, and short fiction and essays that have appeared in many publications and anthologies including Best New American Voices and O. Henry Prize Stories. He is the Books Editor of The Rumpus.net and the director of the Center for Literary Arts at SJSU.
