Introduction to principles of biomedical engineering; interaction of engineering with biology for human health benefit. Topics include introductory cell and molecular biology, biomechanics, biomaterials, biopharmaceuticals, bioinformatics, bioinstrumentation, diagnostic and analytical techniques, FDA regulations, clinical trials, and ethical issues.
Prerequisites: ENRG 010, BIOL 054, CHEM 001A, with a grade of "C-" or better in each.
